Fely’s Jewelry and Pawnshop’s other Civic Endeavors Part 2: FJ&P Does its Share in Amateur Boxing

In its 36 years of existence in Mindanao, The FELY’S JEWELRY AND PAWNSHOP chain have stood pat in its slogan of being a “RESPONSIBLE COMMUNITY PARTNER” and has always been aware of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The FELY’S JEWELRY AND PAWNSHOP have at countless times gone out of its way to do some social awareness activities like giving food packs to street children, giving “shine-shoe” paraphernalia to out of school youth, “Dengue Buster” operations, Operation “Tule”, toys to hospitalized children, donating talking watches to the blind in their support to the handicap, and their yearly Free Medical and Dental Outreach to wherever it had established branches. Indeed, the Fely’s Jewelry and Pawnshop have not turned a deaf ear or a blind eye on some of the need of the community and is continuously expanding its horizon on other worthy social endeavor. During the month of June in the year 2006, the Fely’s Jewelry and Pawnshop has another addition to its list of social consciousness activities. When Mr. Monton, the couch of the Tagbilaran City Boxing Team, which was invited to join the 2006 National Youth and Women Boxing Olympic Festival which was then held at the Mindanao Civic Center Gymnasium at Tubod, Lanao del Norte, asked from MR. NORRIS C. OCULAM, the Fely’s Jewelry and Pawnshop proprietor for support, without battling eyelash, he answered in affirmative and immediately instructed the General Manager of the Fely’s Jewelry and Pawnshop in Mindanao area to give full support to the Tagbilaran Boxing Team. During its stint in the boxing tournament, the Fely’s Jewelry and Pawnshop has provided the boxing Jersey (red and blue), treat them with decent meals, cash incentives and transportation. During the said Boxing Olympics with the full support of Fely’s Jewelry and Pawnshop the Tagbilaran City contingent placed 2nd runner-up among the various national teams. The medalists of the Tagbilaran Team are: Gold Medal – Ardy De Souza via Referee Stopped Contest (RCS) at the 1st round (64kg – Junior Welterweight Division); Silver Medal – Weng-weng Jaya (57kg Featherweight); Bronze Medals Marjun Yap (51kg Flyweight) and Marjo Borres (48 Kg Jr. Flyweight).
