Since the start of the exodus of the people of Marawi City whose peacefulness was disturb by the siege of the city perpetrated by some groups out to create chaos, the Fely’s Jewelry and Pawnshop management particularly its proprietor was really worried on the fate of the people displace by the ongoing. He wants to help in his own simple and meager way but has no idea where and to whom he will channel his little help.
His problem was solved when during his casual conversation with a close family friend, Bai Jam Disomimba, the Chief of Staff of Department of Finance Secretary, Carlos Dominguez III, he was informed that Jam will be going to Iligan City to distribute relief goods from other sources. Upon hearing this information Mr. Oculam right away ask Ms. Jam Disomimba if it would be possible if the Fely’s Jewelry and Pawnshop could channel its small help to the evacuee’s through her.
With Ms. Jam Disomimba’s affirmative reply, Mr. Oculam mobilized his staff at Ozamiz City to immediately prepare bags of rice already packed in a 4 kilo packages for easy distribution.
With the packs of rice ready, the Fely’s Jewelry and Pawnshop hired a van to transport the bags rice to Iligan where Ms. Disomimba was waiting to facilitate the distribution of the packs to the evacuees. As agreed upon, the small donation was delivered to Ms. Disomimba at the Barangay Hall of Barangay Valle Verde where other relief goods were assembled to the various evacuation centre.
