Since the year 1997, when the idea of conducting a Free Medical and Dental Outreach Mission during the Anniversary of any of its branches located in the North and Western Mindanao Area and in the City of Tagbilaran, the year;y outreach missions were conducted yearly without fail. For this City of Cagayan de Oro, the Fely’s Jewelry and Pawnshop have already sponsored eigtheen (18) outreach missions in various barangays of the city since year 2000 which were all successfully conducted in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Cagayan de Oro City through its City Health Department. As evidenced by Cagayan de Oro LGU’s support to this worthy civic endeavor it have never failed to send its City Health Staff composed of at least six or seven doctors and six dentist and support staff. In all 18 yearly outreach missions in various barangays of the city, a total of 15,349 outreach patients have benefited of which 13,931 were medical cases and 1,418 were dental patients.
For this year’s medical and dental outreach mission, a total of 747 outreach patients have benefited of which 653 are medical cases and 94 are tooth extractions. All of these patients were given their prescribed medicines for free courtesy of Fely’s Jewelry and Pawnshop. There number of outreach patients covered should have been greater had it been conducted a week earlier or a week after because of the city’s fiesta celebration in honor of the city’s Patron Saint, the venerable SAINT AUGUSTINE which will be celebrated on August 27th of this instant.
Through force of habit and imitation, the management of the Fely’s Jewelry and Pawnshop – Cagayan de Oro Branches would like to extend its thanks to the good and friendly doctors sent by the CDO LGU which are Dr. Efren Celeste, MD; Dr. Rene Von Cuachon, MD; Dr. Maybelle Honcada, MD; Dr. Shiela Ragudo, MD; Dr. Ma. Aleta Santos, MD; Dr. Gloria Grace Tecson, MD and Dr. Ina Grace Chiu, MD, our gratitude is also given to the good dentist of the CDO City Health office, most of them are always with us in all the outreach mission we have made in this city, which are Dr. Willian G.
